Obsidian Guarda Renewable Energy Community

Obsidian Innovation Institute – Associação is preparing the Obsidian Guarda Renewable Energy Community, a dedicated community-energy initiative focused on the Guarda region.

The initiative is being developed as an open and participatory local energy-community model involving citizens, SMEs, farmers, associations and other local actors. Its purpose is to support collective renewable-energy production, self-consumption, energy sharing, energy-efficiency improvement and local energy resilience.

The initiative is currently in a preparatory and business-planning phase. It is linked to Obsidian’s planned facilities in Guarda and to ongoing land/facility acquisition activities that may provide a future local anchor for site screening, member engagement and first implementation planning.

The planned model may include solar PV, collective self-consumption, energy sharing, storage assessment, EV charging assessment, demand optimisation, energy forecasting and energy-literacy activities. The initiative is not designed as a profit-maximisation project, but as a community-oriented model intended to keep more environmental, social and economic benefits in the local area.

The Obsidian Guarda Renewable Energy Community initiative is an operational and community-development initiative legally hosted by Obsidian Innovation Institute – Associação.
